After almost two decades in fiction with Cinema Ergo Sum Film Production I felt it was time for something different: Creating documentaries about real-life events that aim to have an impact on the world. The decision came about gradually – just creating entertainment was feeling more and more empty.
Then my last project “The Hero Inside Us” – a ten-part drama series created by the German giz to convey messages of peaceful co-existence to the people of Yemen – showed me that having a positive influence on real people’s lives not only felt way more satisfying but also had the power to inspire actual change.
Out of this newly found desire I founded Look Up Films. It is time to “look up”! Not distracting from the problems of the world but facing them and talking about them.
